Mass Earthworks
Wheel loader + dozer + articulated hauler loading cycles for cut-and-fill programs.
Earthworks · paving · lifting support · aggregate · piling · drilling · demolition · marine — each discipline mapped to a Tier 4 Final certified SDLG machine class for loaders, dozers and complementary equipment.
Buyers often ask whether a wheeled loader or a crawler excavator should own the critical path. On firm haul roads with frequent artic loading, wheeled loaders win on cycle time and dump height into truck bodies; on soft spoil pads where ground pressure (kPa) and digging depth dominate, a crawler excavator with a rock bucket is the safer primary machine and the loader becomes the stockpile support unit. SDLG quotes both roles with operating weight, breakout force and undercarriage or axle notes so the site plan is honest about transport cost versus flotation.
| Discipline | Key Spec | Standard | SDLG Class |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mass Earthworks | Bucket capacity (m³) & cycle time | ISO 7546 / ISO 7451 | WL / DZ mid-class |
| Paving Support | Blade width, compaction force & finish speed | EN 500 series practice | Grader + roller class |
| Lifting Support | Staging capacity & dump height | Site lift plan coordination | WL material-handler |
| Aggregate | Output capacity (t/h) into crusher feed | ISO 21873 plant practice | WL stockpile class |
| Piling Access | Digging depth & trench width | EN 474 machine safety | Backhoe / EX class |
| Demolition | Breakout force & sorting reach | EN 13525 practice | EX + WL recycle |
Pilot pressure and hydraulic system pressure checks during commissioning catch soft lift circuits before they show up as slow dump cycles on a night paving window. Final drive and undercarriage wear surveys at 1,000 hours keep residual value predictable for fleet finance — especially when the same dealer truck also carries track shoe width kits for the excavator side of a mixed earthmoving package.
