Technical requirements by discipline

Buyers often ask whether a wheeled loader or a crawler excavator should own the critical path. On firm haul roads with frequent artic loading, wheeled loaders win on cycle time and dump height into truck bodies; on soft spoil pads where ground pressure (kPa) and digging depth dominate, a crawler excavator with a rock bucket is the safer primary machine and the loader becomes the stockpile support unit. SDLG quotes both roles with operating weight, breakout force and undercarriage or axle notes so the site plan is honest about transport cost versus flotation.
